FWIW - I drove this ORP the morning it hit the lot. The sales guy walked away to take a call, and I tried to discreetly snap a few photos.. The holdback was on the 2nd page. This should give you a good idea of how the numbers. work.

Interesting. Unfortunately, I don't think knowledge of the hold back is going to be as helpful until demand for these things dwindles a little (but good to know for somebody eventually). Some people predict that will happen in the next couple months. I kind of doubt it, but it's just a hunch that sales will be pretty strong at least for the rest of this year. Some people can wait and see. I "need" to get "something" now. If they play too many games with price (and related monetary wizardry) I'm prepared to buy a Wrangler or Bronco. We probably don't want to know what the real cost is after you take the manufacturer and dealership profit out of the equation. But this gives you an idea of what this vehicle would cost if we could just order the damn thing direct from Toyota and pick it up from a holding facility near the destination rail yard.

I'm not pissin' and moanin' over my dealer and their salesperson Making a few grand. Toyota just needs to start delivering vehicles!
I agree.. The dealer needs to make some money, and the sales person needs to eat or feed their family. The problem here that the dealer makes 6% over invoice by selling at TSRP. That doesn't include the markup on PIOs. The dealer then adds a $3600markup on the vehicle citing paint protection, window protection, key fob replacement, yadda, yadda.. Then, on top of that there's a $3400 market adjustment. So now, the dealer take is nearly $10k. The dealer in question "generously" agreed to remove the "market adjustment" but refused to budge on the other stuff and added some "Perma Plate" protection for another $699. I'm still not sure how that's not considered paint and interior protection, but whatever. As long as Toyota keeps throttling the delivery, this will be the case. I would bet they don't make the same mistake they did with the Tacoma. They're practically giving those away to get the lots cleared.

Is anyone getting more than this off MSRP? I'd fly to Indiana and drive that home for a 4000 dollar discount.

There are no discounts. I found a dealer in NJ that had 2 on the lot. Told me over the phone and email that there was a $2000 discount on a TRD Sport Premium. So I show up there, test drive the thing then sit down to talk numbers and they tell me nothing they posted on their website, said over phone or through email applied and that there was an $8000 market adjustment on the thing. Told the sales manager he's crazy and tried to move him to MSRP but he wouldn't budge so I left. Glad I got the test drive though. I'll just wait a few more weeks for my allocation to be delivered.

how the hell do you get a TRD Sport with a msrp of 58.8k when the base msrp is 47,250 and you cant get a HV version which usually adds 3k for the HV motor.

its doesnt matter if they give you 4k off, they over padded the msrp so much they still make a killing

something doenst add up, need to see more info or a better layout of the pricing
