33" Nitto Terra Grappler tires installed on 18" Factory Upgrade TRD Wheels.

So I pulled the trigger on some 33" Nitto Terra Grapplers tires (replaces the Falken Wildpeak AT3WA that comes with 18" TRD Wheels package upgrade). At first I wanted to go 34" with a 285/70r18 but there were not many options for the 18" wheel. Most were E load and the only nice C load I could find were the Wildpeaks but they are Heavy! 70lbs per tire.

That being said this is my wife's car, I did not want to run the E load or the heavy tire so I chose to go with a 33s and I am happy. It drives very smooth on the highway with minimal noise and I like the way it looks for now but might add a lift in the future.

Wanted to try the wider and slightly bigger diameter Mickey's on the stock suspension and upgraded TRD 18" Wheels (+45 offset) to report if there will be any rubbing for this tire size. They fit great with no rubbing.

I'd like to maybe put some +35 or +25 offset wheels on it but I'm not in a huge hurry as they look pretty good. I think some +35 - +20 wheels will give a good poke but will rub a tiny bit without a leveling kit, lift kit, or at least pushing the front wheel well felt forward and removing the rear cover and bracket. Any of these options should do to eliminate rubbing should you choose a wheel with more poke and these wider tires.

Picked her up on Friday and immediately took her for a wheel and tire swap. Managed to snap some photos before the rain started.

At full turn, I have some a small bit of rubbing. Might need the 1.5 level/lift kit to solve this. Still need to remove the chin. More mods coming.. More photos and video coming too. Loving this truck!

Here's a walk around.. This give you an idea of how badass the hood scoop looks (even though it's not functional) I guess I really didn't need to blur my plate if I was going to show this.

Just got BFG KO2 285/70/17 tires put on and air dam taken off.

The tires are not rubbing, my tire guy checked as thoroughly as he could to make sure it wasn't rubbing. I'm not sure if they will start to rub, if it isn't rubbing now?

I really like the upgrades.

Update:
The ride quality is still very smooth, I can't tell much of a difference with the ride or steering.

Just got lucky while bringing my Highlander in for an oil change. The dealer really wanted hybrid highlanders so I was happy to give them the keys. No deposit, it was the only one they had and put the Tundra/Sequoia BBS wheels and KO3 tires (285/65R18)

Looks amazing and the height is nearly even with where my 5th gen with a 3” icon lift and 285/75’s stood.

Super happy with it, and love the stance, no rubbing lock to lock.

Specs:

Sequoia / Tundra TRD Pro OEM BBS Wheels (18x8")
Part number: PT960-34220-2F
+47.5mm offset / 6.5" back spacing
MSRP $1,098.98 per wheel

(but used take-off sets are available for $1500/set on Ebay and Facebook marketplace)
